![]() Lucky Shield - The Lucky Shield is a great benefit. Will you notice the change? Unlikely, but any increase in the odds is to your benefit realistically. Card Drop Rate Increase - A slight increase in the card drop rate. Not a big change, but it's better than nothing. Initial Fire Rate Up - This is an increase to your weapon level by one level.Getting a random mega-bomb at the start of a level will give you the most savings as they cost much more than lasers and shields. This will help slightly, but it's more for a slight decrease in purchases necessary. Random Power-up at Mission Start - One upgrade is given to you in any of the three categories.Another card that I didn't notice too much improvement on. Increased Laser Damage - Small increase in damage of the laser.Increased Mega-Bomb Damage - Small increase in the damage per mega-bomb.I definitely used this card to knock out a 100% kill medal on occasion. If you're going for a particularly tricky medal, having a maxed fire rate to start with can sometimes be the difference between success and failure. In other words, no weapon upgrade tokens drop as it is already maxed out. Maximum Fire Rate - This will have your fire rate at full charge to begin with. ![]() As you go along and get further, this might be less advantageous. Extra Stars - In the early game when every upgrade makes your chances of survival go up, a few extra stars appearing with each kill makes a big difference. Not truly guaranteed, but better at least. Paired with the Ace of Spades, this can really make things slightly better in your favor. Card Drop Rate Increase - There is a slightly higher chance of getting the unlimited cards during a level. ![]() In general, Cards 1 through 3 benefited me on occasion. As a result, if you have a card "on" and see an additional one during a level, it will therefore be one of the unlimited cards. Only one of these cards will ever be "on" at a time. These time limited upgrades can be beneficial, but your mileage will vary. As a result, you can expect to play roughly two or three levels before the timer expires. After you complete the level with the card and return to the level select screen, the clock will begin ticking. ![]() The source is listed here, on this Steam Discussions post.Timed cards will have a 15 minute time limit on them. While this is likely the only downside to this strategy, you can change the controls of the Power-Ups to activate only one Energy Shield (this keeps both Planes safe). Another important note is that when using Power-Ups, both Planes will use them if applicable, so two Mega Bombs or Lasers will be used simultaneously to do great damage. The only exception is Iron Clad and Swift Justice, as those two Planes have different movement speeds. Both Planes can be controlled as one entity, which leads to quite the extravaganza. A recommend tip is to leave the Fire button separate, because Autofire will make this non-essential, and the Fire button is also used for selecting the Plane. Essentially, setting Player 1 and Player 2's controls as the same buttons allows both Players to be controlled by one press. On PC widescreen versions, there is a nearly game-busting exploit that one can do with the Planes. In traditional card games, Ace of Spades is the name of usually the best card in the whole deck, which implies the high successful Card-hunting ratio given by the Plane of this same name. Its increased speed and number engraved on its fuselage can also be a reference to Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton. Swift Justice's name is not to be confused for an American detective drama series of the exact same name.Iron Clad (More specifically, Ironclad) means the subject is covered with and protected by iron, which infers its ability to endure damage.Gladius is the Latin translation of "sword", inferring the Plane's destructive firepower. Some of the Planes' names act as references to or reminders of certain things or famous people. In Google Play Games, achievements are awarded for clearing all Stages with each of the Planes. The only playable Plane in the Christmas Tournaments. This Plane is featured in the annual Christmas Tournament, which utilizes an adequate magnitude of firepower for taking down dessert themed enemies.
